Biography



  • Born 1953, Comox, British Columbia.
  • Graduate of the Alberta College of Art & Design, 1976.
  • Member of the Saturday Morning Figurative Sessions, U of S.
  • Member of the Saskatoon printmakers
  • Member of CARFAC, Saskatchewan.
  • Works in a variety of mediums including; watercolour, acrylic, oil, woodcut, linocut, and monotypes.
  • 1994 - 1996 taught adult evening watercolour classes.
  • Participates in numerous group shows and a few selective benefits each year.


  • In 1991, he was commissioned for a large watercolour of Nutana Collegiate. This work along with
    2 studies can be found in the permanent collection of the Nutana Collegiate Memorial Art Gallery, Saskatoon.
  • In 1997 he initiated the l'exposition des refuses (in response to works refused by the Mendel Open '97).
  • In 1998 he participated in Landscape '98 organized by the U of S and the Mendel Art Gallery, Saskatoon.
  • Since 1996 he has regularly juried the senior level Art Competition at the Prairie Land Exhibition, Saskatoon.
  • In 2000 he formed ArtistsInCanada.com - dedicated to linking artists, art galleries (Public and Commercial),
    educational facilities and art suppliers throughout Canada.
  • In 2003 as a member of the Saskatoon Printmakers he helped organize and design a traveling print exhibition entitled One Hundred Horizons. This exhibition was picked up by OSAC and continues to tour Saskatchewan and Manitoba through 2008. A 36 page, full colour catalogue is included as well as a web site promoting the exhibition.

  • In 2004, he started the AIC AWARDS through ArtistsInCanada.com. They are awarded to young aspiring Artists aged 15-18 years as a one day Mentorship Workshop, put on by professional artists. Partiscipating students are chosen by the mentors. In 2006 it was expanded to accomodate 32 students - each awarded this one day mentorship in 4 disciplines - photography, painting, sculpture and drawing.
  • In 2004 along with a sculptor friend, Art In The Garden was started - An informal exhibition held each year in one of the artist's backyard. It has since expanded to 6 partiscipating artists and is now held in the Park Estuary of O'Haras Salon for 2 days each June.
